Membership in the Society provides an array of benefits. Namely, members may launch their self-funded model rockets, high-power rockets, and experimental rockets from the Mojave Test Area (MTA) free of charge. Other benefits include access to member only content, including a small library, and the ability to gain administrative membership, allowing the member to vote in Society elections and run for elected office.

In order to apply for membership, one must fill out the application form, and submit it to the Society President. In addition, the applicant must pay his dues for the current calendar year, $40, or $20 for a currently enrolled student. Applicants are admitted to the Society once their application has been approved by a majority vote of the Executive Council.
