DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH

SECTION 1.
The Director of Research shall be in executive control, under the Executive Council, of all research, scientific, technical, or educational operations of this Society and of its branches and local groups, except those specifically herein assigned elsewhere.

The Director of Research shall keep the Executive Council and cognizant committees informed of all research projects and will be responsible for encouraging scientific investigations, promoting sound and accurate reporting, maintaining the technical files, and disseminating the information to all members.

The Director of Research is responsible for scientific investigation of topics and projects beneficial to the Society.

The Director of Research shall also be responsible for maintaining the historical records of the Society.

The Director of Research will serve as the only tie-breaking vote of the Executive Council.

SECTION 2.
The Director of Research shall be appointed by a yearly vote of the Executive Council and shall serve at its pleasure. The Director of Research must maintain active membership status.
