GENERAL PROVISIONS
SECTION 1.
This Society being dedicated to scientific and technical education and advancement its members should avoid as far as possible unnecessary political activities within the organization. The Constitution and by-laws, which shall be interpreted by the Executive Council in the case of disputes, and the regulations of the Society for the protection of life and limb should be abided by in the true democratic spirit of scientific progress.
SECTION 2.
Static tests and/or propellant mixing occurring on other than regularly scheduled launch dates at the Society-owned testing site(s) may be performed under all of the following conditions:
a. At least two RRS members are present
b. The President must be notified in advance and approved.
Section 3, Conflict of Interest
Subsection 3.1, Definition.
Conflict of Interests shall be defined as any situation wherein a member of the Society stands to make financial gain due to his interests outside of the Society benefitting from his membership, or from his authority and responsibilities thereto. The amount of financial gain to qualify as Conflict of Interests shall be no greater than $1,500 in a calendar year.
Subsection 3.2, Disclosure.
All members of the Society shall immediately disclose any Conflict of Interests to the Executive Council.
The Executive Council shall publish Conflict of Interests to the membership at the next monthly meeting.
Subsection 3.3, Resolution.
Resolution of a member’s Conflict of Interests shall include:
- Exclusion from electoral participation on matters concerning his Conflict of Interests.
- Exclusion from other Society activities concerning his Conflict of Interests
Resolutions to a member’s Conflict of Interests shall be imposed by a majority vote of the qualified membership.
The Election Chairman appointed for such an election shall abstain from voting.
Subsection 3.4, Impeachment.
An officer of the Society may be immediately impeached due to his Conflict of Interests by either:
- Majority vote of the Executive Council, excluding the affected member.
- Majority vote of the qualified membership.
